In a litter we aim to have consistent quality with each puppy. In reality each puppy has different qualities whither structural or temperament wise that may make them more suitable for different types of homes.
The difference between a pet and show quality puppy is a pet would have an undesirable fault that would prevent the dog from becoming a show dog. That would be any faults described in the standard. In most cases pet homes will not care about a fault when the health is just the same as a show puppy. All pet quality puppies are priced lower as well.
A show quality puppy would be within the standard and have good all the way to excellent structural balance and soundness.
